A Look into the Sterling Digibinder Perfect Binding Machine

About Perfect Binding:

Perfect Binding, also referred to as soft cover binding, is similar to paper back novel binding. Unlike some binding processes that require sewing the pages into the spine of the book, Perfect Binding requires no sewing, and instead uses a strong adhesive is used to hold the pages in place by attaching them to a soft cover. When finished, Perfect Binding creates a clean look with a flat spine.

Sometimes referred to as case binding, the use of Perfect Binding also lends itself to smaller publishing concerns, such as desktop publishing and self publishing in the publish on demand businesses. The equipment required to create a perfect bind is relatively simple and easy to operate. Glues used in this binding technique are also easy to work with, making the task of creating a professional look possible even by people with little binding experience. Perfect Binding is utilized for many types of soft-cover type books, manuals, corporate reports, brochures, and other simple collections of documents – perfect for self-publishing!

About the Sterling Digibinder:

There are several machines on the market that offer the convenience and appeal of perfect binding, and today we will review the Digibinder Perfect Binding Machine by Sterling.

The Sterling Digibinder is a fully automated Perfect Binding Machine that offers one-touch perfect binding. Go from thick books to thin books without making any adjustments on the machine as the book size, pneumatic clamp, and nipper are completely self adjusting to the size of book you place on the machine, making your work easy. Twin glue rollers ensure an even and consistent glue application, every time. There is absolutely no set up required. Coated stock is no problem for the Sterling Digibinder Perfect Binding Machine... it handles it with ease.

The Sterling Digibinder Perfect Binder roughs the entire backbone and notches the edges. Notching blades are two small points that turn on a wheel and scrape the backbone of a book block prior to gluing. This creates what looks like a barber pole on the spine of the book block and the glue will seep into these spiral gouges in the spine for a strong hold. The Sterling Digibinder Perfect Binding Machine lets you perfect bind books up to 1-1/2" thick at speeds of up to 360 books per hour. The Digibinder Perfect Binder is small enough for an office, however, is also an ideal choice for in plant and on demand printers.
